While sublimation printers use transfers and a heat press, it is a more complicated process than pressing screen print transfers onto apparel. To sublimation print a product, a design must be printed onto special paper with a sublimation printer. The design is then heat-pressed onto a product (often with a special heat press), leaving behind a beautiful full-color, photo quality print. Mugs, keychains, coasters, puzzles, bag tags, and many more products can all be sublimation printed as long as they have a flat, white polymer-coated surface. White polyester garments can also be printed via sublimation, though that is less common than gift products.
